The Barnwell Priory
Once a great priory of medieval England, the present-day remains of the 13th century Barnwell Priory – the Cellarer’s Chequer and the Church of St Andrew-the-Less (aka Abbey Church) – sit unused and forgotten in a little corner of Cambridge, England. Photographer Sara Rawlinson showcases these buildings as part of the history of the Augustinian Barnwell Priory and the origins of Cambridge’s Midsummer Fair. All photos are available as fine art prints and as a published book (2019) The Barnwell Priory. Created and presented with thanks to the Cambridge City Council.
